10 Reasons First Time Home buyers Should Relax During the Home Buying Process.

A very good Friday morning to you. If you are in the middle of buying or selling a home, there will most likely be a bit of stress. I know you may have a thousand and one things to do this weekend. We do too. You have homes to view, documents to submit, inspection, walk-thru, packing, a new school season, and everything else in between, all going on at the same time.

But, in the middle of it all, we all still need to take the time to relax. I know life does not stop because we do, but still, taking time to relax, if not daily, doing so on the weekend is one way to ensure a healthy life while keeping calm when everything around you is anything but. Here are a few benefits from relaxing:

  • Helps you to make the right home buying decision

  • Improve digestion

  • Calm and clear the mind

  • Increase blood flow

  • lower blood pressure

  • improve your immune system

  • Reduce depression

  • Improve sleep

  • Improve focus

  • Improve mood

I've been doing this for a while and still do. One way I relax is by arriving in Galveston early morning by between 6:30-7 am on a weekday. There's usually only a few people out there at that time, so it's really amazing. If you did not get a chance to Zen out during the week, whatever you do this weekend, carve out of bit of me time to relax.

Don't want the drive or like the beach? No worries. Find something that make you laugh to the point of tears, or, you can find your Zen space and just be. Do nothing at all. Your body will love you for it. Here are a few other relaxing techniques you can try:

  • Do some deep breathing for about 5-10 minutes a few times throughout the day

  • Get a 30-60 minutes' massage at your favorite spa

  • Yoga - lots of local classes. You also do not have to leave your home for this one.

  • Aromatherapy - Black pepper, peppermint, lavender, geranium, jasmine, ylang-ylang are just a few suggestions.

  • Hydrotherapy -This can be as simple as taking a long relaxing bath.

Remember, buying or selling a home can be a bit stressful. Taking time to relax during the process, will help to clear your mind so you can make the best possible decision for you and your family. Have a great weekend and don't forget to live life like you mean it.
