Are We in a Buyer's Market or a Seller's Market?

Hi, with so much negative headlines and news about the real estate market right now, you may be asking yourself what kind of market are we in. Well, I am here to tell you the truth, as always, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

Sorry home buyers, but we are without a doubt, still, very much in a seller's market. A seller's market is usually one with less than 5 months of inventory. Houston Association of Realtors months of inventory was last reported at 2.7.

The only market for us to be in with those numbers is a seller's market. For us to be in a buyer's market, months of inventory must usually be about 7 months of inventory, while a balance market is 5-7 months of inventory. I usually say about 6 months of inventory.

So, if you are thinking of selling your home, this is really the time to do so. And please know that there are plenty of qualified home buyers. Still, as you may have heard, every thing with real estate is negotiable, so do not be surprise if buyers and their Realtors want to negotiate. Thank you so much for stopping by. Until next time...Diana.
