Are You A First Time Home Owner That Has Fallen Behind on Your Property Taxes or Mortgage?

Have you fallen behind on your mortgage payment due to the pandemic? Did you know eligible homeowners can apply for and receive grants to pay past due mortgage payments, property taxes and other home related payments through the Texas Homeowners Assistance Fund Program?

The Fund provides eligible homeowners that have fallen behind on their payments due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with grants to pay past due mortgage payments, property taxes, home insurance, and HOA fees. Administered by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TXHAF) you can receive up to 25,000 if you qualify.

Eligibility requirements Includes but not limited to:

  • You must own and occupy the property as your primary residence

  • Your household income must be at or below the Area Median Income level
