3 - 2022 Design Trends Houston First Time Home Buyers Should Know About

It is safe to say that while most people rearrange their home decor with seasonal changes, I do so, at least one a month to avoid dated look. Nothing big, just small changes here and there. Plus we love to paint, so I tend to say on top of design trends as they come and go. That being said, here are 3 trends that are already gone or on their way out for 2023. Let’s begin with the Darker, warm colors.

Fading in popularity are darker, warm colors used in bathrooms. Because darker, warm colors tend to make spaces feel small, closed in and stressful. They are now considered outdated and a bit aggressive.

Next up is Tile. On trend now is organic and calming, out is the classic chevron tile that continues to scream 2010 and is the opposite of organic and calming.

Also out is the sterile, hospital feel of the all-white bathrooms. In addition to being very challenging to keep clean and looking pristine, most people find it a bit boring after a while. While I am not very big on textured spaces which is currently on trend, some people are. I tend to lean more toward unique color like Benjamin Moore Palladian Blue. It’s So fetch!

On a more yuletide note, while you are out dashing through the stores - to find that last minute perfect gift, we at First Home Houston, don't want a lot for Christmas. Not even present under the tree. In fact, there’s just one thing we need; for you and your family to have a very happy, very merry, very healthy and a very safe Christmas holiday.

From all of us to all of you, Merry Christmas. Thank you so much for stopping by. Until next time...Diana
